If you are looking to improve your skills and get practical experience with the latest equipment then this course is for you!
This course is a hands-on workshop with integrated theory, focusing on best practices for working with modern digital live audio systems. It covers setting up and operating PA systems with digital amplifiers, exploring different configurations for theatre, music, and corporate events. Topics include gain structure, mix management and tuning a system by ear using a logical approach. The role of the mix balance engineer is also addressed, including configuring mixing consoles for a range of applications, from simple corporate events to complex, large-scale productions. The course covers an introduction to Dante and best-practices for cable management when working with bands.
The course also covers the use of wireless digital microphones, including methods for scanning airbands for interference and proper deployment of radio mics. Additionally, it includes an introduction to QLab, highlighting its role as an industry standard for playback, and touches on Pro Tools for live multitracking and Virtual Soundcheck. This course is ideal for those with prior experience in audio engineering or local event work, looking to elevate their skills to the next level.
